This is for those of you who have a fridge with a water ice dispenser.

Can my fridge water line run under the floor.

Flex water supply tubes are available in either a tough plastic nylon mesh or braided steel. In most cases the water line can be run from a kitchen faucet water supply line through the kitchen cabinets and over to the refrigerator. With this fix you re going to have to purchase a new water line and install it. So i put some tape on the end of the water line and threaded it down through the floor to the basement.

If there are no cabinets that run between your sink and refrigerator you may have to go through the floor or wall to tap the nearest water supply line. Whoever originally ran the line did not use a single piece of tubing and it came apart at the connection i think. The old line runs from the sink supply down a hole under the hardwood for about 10 and comes up a hole near the wall behind the fridge. Sometimes the water lines can break suddenly.

There isn t any access through the floor or from below. Identify the water supply line you plan to tap and determine where to drill a hole to accommodate the refrigerator water line you will connect. When they do the water can backflow and pool down at the bottom of your fridge obviously causing a huge issue.
