If you prefer only wooden materials then use a straight wooden border between the two.
Can you have two different colored wood floors.
Adjoining two types of wood floors is nothing complicated in separated areas or rooms.
You really do not need electricity or battery whenever you have this type of chime.
If you do have different colors of wood in adjoining rooms add a border to each room in the color of the other room s floor.
It s possible for you to come across different color wood floors in many home depots.
Then you can sand and refinish both areas in the same color so they match.
But if you wanted a wider plank you can certainly do that as well.
Smaller rooms benefit from lighter tones such as ash maple or white oak.
If you choose a wider plank i recommend a flush saddle rather than a t molding for the transition between each space.
Simply use a t molding at the threshold of the doors it is a neat and easy solution.
This home shows a beautiful use of two kinds of wood flooring.
I ll be back later this week with before after photos to show how the cocoa walnut floors have transformed our second level.
If you re planning to combine 2 or more different wooden floors in your house there are a few things to bear in mind.
You can simply separate them using wooden borders or t moldings in the thresholds of the doors.
This can work really well if it s planned and each room has its own interior look which reinforces the flooring choice.
You can also separate areas in large rooms with different grains of wood.
Dark wood floors such as brazilian walnut or mahogany work well in both south facing rooms and large rooms.
They work together beautifully for a few reasons.
If you re working with new hardwood and an existing floor rip out some of the old flooring around the perimeter of the room to add the border.
Having two different widths is better than 2 different color and species of hardwood.
If they are too similar in grain and color it can look like an unsuccessful attempt to match them.
This makes the contrast look deliberate and smooths the transition from.
Lay both floors in a herringbone or chevron pattern.
The first is the overall look you re trying to create.
I will also share my thoughts on the two different products and now that we ve had our cocoa walnut floors for almost 6 months i ll let you know what we think of them.
It may be that you want to create a somewhat bohemian look for your home whereby you choose random widths and colours of wood flooring in each room to instill a completely different look.
If you want to install different wood grain floors in adjacent rooms it can be easy to do so.
Account for the extra new flooring when placing your order.
