Car Door Handle Broken Child Lock

My son has pulled on my door handle and broke the handle on the outside.

Unfortunately the child lock is on and i cant open it from the inside either. This is a 2007 kia spectra the method used. Anyone else had this issue and please help. Take a flathead screw driver and shimmy it into either side of the slits where the door handle goes into the door.

Lift up the door belt line moulding top of the rear door to see inside the rear of the door at the lock. I already ordered the replacement part and i know how to replace the door handle i just need to know how to get the door.

We don t have much money so i need an efficient and cheap way to fix this as soon as possible. By moving switch you can switch the lock on and off. Car door handle broke with child lock on. If you are still able to see the cable end while pulling the door handle then you might be able to pull it using a pair of pliers.

There are two types of child lock available in vehicle. It seems i was not the only one who ended up with a broken outside door handle while the child lock is on. Window lock if there is power window the openin. There are only a few screws holding it on and some snap clips.
